Don Cotton, President and CEO, has been active in professional turf management for over 30 years. Specializing in turf maintenance equipment from reel mowers to harvesters, Don Cotton has served as consultant and analysis for some of the major brands of turf equipment manufacturers.
Instrumental and a contributor to the Turf Tech Training Manual for reel maintenance, Don Cotton was also in the first wave of turf grass managers to successfully complete and receive certification as Turf Grass Professional through the University of Georgia and PLCAA continuing education course. He possesses a wealth of knowledge in the design, performance and proper maintenance of reels and bed knives.
Don Cotton has been granted three U.S. patents and several foreign patents related to reel mower designs and improvements. From testing prototypes to conducting training classes, Don and the staff at Turf Pride can also assist you in all aspects of turf maintenance equipment. Technicians associations, superintendents, turf schools and mower manufactures are just some of the areas Don Cotton has served worldwide. He has led seminars at some of the nations top turf grass colleges, Penn State, Texas A & M, Auburn University, Lake City Community College, SUNY and Hines Community College, just to name a few. He has made special presentations at trades shows and mechanics associations in most USA states also in many foreign countries, including Canada, Ireland, UK, Japan, China and many others. Don Cotton offers “basic” to “in depth” reel maintenance, including proper adjusting and sharpening techniques.
